Dear Clients - I'm going virtual!

03/23/20

Dear Client,

Right now, each day we wake up to news updates and an ever growing list of changes we are making in our lives. It can bring up a lot of fear, anxiety and even grief as plans are canceled, social distancing happens and daily routines are completely shifted. I truly value our relationship and have developed a plan so we can continue to take care of your mental health during this time. I want to be a place of support for what you are going through.

As of today, all sessions will be moved to virtual sessions. We will no longer meet in my office. This is a temporary measure as the COVID-19 situation will one day pass. I will continue to see you at your scheduled times but we will be using the secure and encrypted telemental health (virtual/video) platform through this CounSol portal. We may meet by phone or through CounSol Chat if necessary.

This week, you will receive new appointment reminders of your upcoming video session. I recognize that your schedule may look different, as does mine. While this is temporary, please determine if our session time works for you. If not, please let me know so we can explore how I can accommodate your needs. I want to be as flexible as possible as I know this is a crucial time for all of us to maintain some sense of normalcy. With virtual sessions, I can continue to support you in your strengths and mental well being. I do not charge for cancellations due to illness or complications that arise as a result of COVID-19.

Research shows that virtual sessions are an effective form of therapy. There are a few differences than what you experience in my office. You will need to find a space if at all possible that is quiet and where you feel comfortable to share. A headset or earbuds will help reduce noise and distraction. To prepare for your session, please visit: https://personcenteredtech.com/tmh/clients/

Prior to our first Telemental Health/Video session, there are some additional forms that must be completed, reviewed, and signed. These are located under FORMS and then at the bottom of "Available Forms":

  • Telemental Health (Video/Virtual) Services Informed Consent
  • Telemental Health - Tech Recovery and Client Safety Plan

I look forward to seeing you, virtually, soon.

Warmly,

Sheryl

Please note: I was scheduled to be out of the office during Spring Break but I am available this week M-F to support you in this time of need. Please call or mail message me to schedule an appointment. I have openings available W-F
