Sheryl Dunn Watson, LPC, CCMHC
"Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but
anyone can start today and make a new ending."
My name is Sheryl Dunn Watson, and I have practiced therapy in Oregon for more than 27 years. I have a degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1996. I became a National Certified Counselor in 1995 and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor in 2014. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Oregon Counseling Association (ORCA), and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS).
I believe all people have within themselves the ability to move towards positive change. By creating a safe and trusting relationship and environment, I begin to facilitate my clients' abilities to accept personal responsibility for their behavior, develop autonomy, and to make positive and constructive choices in their lives. I hope to empower my clients to successfully overcome traumatic and/or stressful life events and to find positive solutions to problems they may face currently or in the future.
I integrate a variety of treatment theories and modalities to meet the needs and learning style of each individual. Some of the treatment modalities may include cognitive behavioral techniques, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness and self-regulation concepts, solution focused therapy, family systems theory, and client centered approaches, as well as, parent counseling, psychosocial education, skills training, and narrative techniques.
I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation and I am happy to answer any questions you might have.
I look forward to meeting with you,
